Print & Fold PB Maker
Have you ever wanted to print the PDF of your picture book and fold and glue (or staple) it into a real book? It's handy to test your page turns, or see early sketches on real paper.
This tool makes a print-ready PDF of your book with the pages reconstructed so that you can print it double-sided, fold it, and all the pages will appear in the right order.
Your PDF never leaves your computer. Everything happens right here in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

How is your PDF set up?
How do you plan to bind it?
Check the print sheets
This is exactly what your printer will get. The pages look shuffled on purpose—they fall into order once the sheets are folded and nested. Select a sheet to see it bigger.
Preview your book
This part is kind of pointless. It's here because it looks cool.
Download and print
Print it double-sided, flipped on the short edge. On a Mac, that’s Double-sided → On (Short Edge); on Windows, Flip on short edge.
Fold and bind
-
Fold the papers
Fold all the papers. The last sheet ends up in the middle. If you did this wrong, it will look wrong.
-
Bind them
Glue the papers together somehow. You can probably figure that out without these instructions. Or staple through the center with a long-reach stapler.
Staple through the front cover. There should be room for the staples because of that little gap we left in the gutter.
Finish by trimming along the cut marks for clean edges.
Troubleshooting
- The back of each sheet prints upside down
- Your printer is flipping on the long edge. Switch double-sided printing to the short edge: on a Mac, Double-sided → On (Short Edge); on Windows, Flip on short edge.
- The front and back don’t quite line up
- Small shifts are normal on home printers. I'm not really sure how to fix it.
- Spreads are split across the wrong pages
- Check the book configuration in Step 1. The preview in "Does this look like your book?" needs to look right. Adding or removing a single page at the start shifts every spread by one page.
